Salim Rashad Shakir was born in upstate NY but raised in San Antonio, Texas. Salim has been singing in the school choir since elementary. He now pursues a full time, energetic music career.
He is inspired by his parents. They've worked hard all of his life and he wants to provide a better life for them and the rest of his family. Life's hardships and lessons as well as his love and passion for music are also key motivators in his life.
What Shakir favors most out of success in the music industry is the ability to impact the lives of countless people for the better. Impacting the youth of today is also one of his driving forces. He also loves the sensational feeling one gets after rocking a crowd.
